Benefits of Eggs for pregnant women
Benefits of Eggs for pregnant women - Although the price is relatively cheap, actually eggs containing great benefits for health. Pregnant women was no exception. Content of choline in eggs are known to be able to reduce the risk of a baby suffering from disease and reduce the stress of the mother before the birth.

Results of the study the researchers from Cornell University indicates that choline may help protect from the effects of a mother's stress during pregnancy. Previous research has indicated that exposure to the hormone cortisol is high (stress hormone) during pregnancy may make children vulnerable to stress due to illness and chronic conditions. Research is increasingly adding to the evidence about the importance of choline in fetal development.

In his studies, involving 24 women researchers in the third trimester of pregnancy were randomly asked to consume either 480 milligrams (mg) per day or choline 930 mg choline per day for 12 weeks.

Later, researchers collected samples of blood and the placenta as well as sampled mother network placenta. They then compared the levels of cortisol and genetic differences between all the samples. The researchers observed lower levels of cortisol in the cord and placenta cortisol changes in genes that regulate both the placenta and fetal tissue in women who have a high intake of choline.

"The findings indicate that high intake of choline during pregnancy can adversely effect against some due to stress before birth. Such behaviour, neuroendokrin, and metabolic disorders, "said research leader, Marie Caudill, PhD, from Cornell University.

Caudill express that has tremendous benefits of choline for pregnant women because it has been proven to play an important role in brain development of fetuses and infants, affecting areas of the brain responsible for memory and learning ability.

In addition, studies have shown women with low choline diet has a four times greater risk of having a baby with neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. Even other studies also have shown added benefits of choline including for prevention of breast cancer, anti-inflammatory, and brain function.

According to Caudill, eggs are a very rich source of choline, as it contains 125 mg of sebutirtelur. It is found exclusively in the yolk and egg whites instead. These findings are published in the latest issue of the Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.
